Zlaty Kahanec 2019

22/07/2019

The 66th Ulster Grand Prix in Northern Ireland on the Dundrod circuit just outside of Belfast will take place on 5-10.8.2019. Every year, this race competes with Tourist Trophy on the Isle of Man for the title of "the fastest race in the world", with the highest average speeds around 135 miles per hour.

Just like last year, our Indiracing team with the support of the DAS TRANS team and ARIANE Racing Factory will participate in these races.

It was in the MOTO 3 category that Michal Indi finished for the first time last year on the ARIANE 3 machinery and managed second place in the first race, but also first "international win" on the circuit in second race.

Michal Indi Dokoupil #23:

"Last time I stood on the podium as a newcomer at Ulster in 2009, when the races were national and international and then last year on the Ariane 3. where I had only two half hours experience in Most before going straight to Ulster. We didn't have any experience at all. I never sat on Moto3 and Ariane was never on roadracing before. But we got along pretty quickly and it made me great second and eventually first place in the second race."

This year, the competition in this class will be even more difficult at Ulster with stars like Christian Elkin, multiple winner, or Gary Dunlop, son of legendary Joey Dunlop, but also multiple champion of Ireland Derek McGee, currently racing at Faraldo Racing Moto3 from Italy, winning all national Moto3 races in Ireland. Indi tried this year Ariane in Hořice, where he won the overall first place, and as a training races on the circuit in Havířov, where he won by more than half a minute ahead.

Michal Indi Dokoupil #23:

"I really like the Zlaty Kahanec and I like to go back to Těrlicko. We currently have motorbikes in Ireland, so I was glad to be able to ride 'Aruna'(Ariane family name) and to train like that just before Ulster. Of course, I would like to repeated the victory again, but I know it will not be easy, because the competitors are great racers and they will do best job on great machineries. We will see after the first practices what we can do."

Indi will also ride the Yamaha R6, which was used this year's TT.

Veronika is also going to Ulster. She did not finish the supersport race in Těrlicko and had to retired from the 13th place due to a technical failure. She will be riding Ulster again in the UGP Supertwin class on the Kawasaki, which she rode last year and then the Manx Grand Prix on the Isle of Man, where she won two silver replica Nikes and also a trophy for the best female performance.

Veronika Hankocyova #53

"I am really looking forward to Ulster, it´s one of my favorite tracks, and although the weather often doesn´t good, I like to ride on the wet conditions anyway. Last year we bought a supertwin at the very last moment, it was the last chance to get a motorcycle for Manx GP, because the other plans were unexpectedly dropped just before. I managed 16th place last year, and this year, of course, I hope to be better placed to leave for Man with a good feeling."

After Ulster there is not much time left and the team will have to go back to the Isle of Man after returning home, where Veronika will not only run two races in the MGP Lightweight class, but also Michal Indi Dokoupil at the Classic TT in the Classic Superbike class!
